Social Spark Sucks

Now we all know that FeelingFlirty talks about adult things. It’s no secret. I don’t shy away from that. I’m actually quite proud that we can talk about most anything here and it’s OK.

I received an “invitation” from Social Spark to join their advertising program. So I did. They asked me to deposit some money into my account, which I did. I deposited $100 for a trial to see if it was worth pursuing. We created a campaign and when we hit the submit button, they charged my credit card for an additional $93. From my way of thinking if I had $100 in there and I spent $93, there should be $7 left. No so, they want to hold my $100 for some reason only known to them.

Only known to them because we’ve written to them several times and all we get is the acknowledgement that they’ll look into it.

That’s not the worst of it. Now that I have nearly $200 invested with these people, they tell us that we’ll have to advertise another site because mine is too adult.

Wait a minute, I thought. If they KNEW I was adult when they emailed me their fricken spam, why didn’t they say right up front that they’d like me to give them $200 and go away.

So, they mislead you going in, don’t reply to emails in anything like a timely manner and keep your money and give you nothing of value. If you were considering spending any money with them, check them out because my experience was rotten.

If they won’t refund you, file a chargeback with your CC company.

THAT DOES SUCK!!! What a sham! What a scam!!! I’m so angry for you! Too adult?????? You’ve GOT to be kidding …

I used to be a mypoints member back in ‘01 and ‘02 (too many junk emails to open, though I did eventually qualify for a $10 gift card after two years …)

Anyway, there was some kind of consumer site listed - and you got points if you used it to write either a positive/negative letter to a company - Tmobile, Denny’s, Toyota, anything.

I wish I can remember the name of the site - it was similar to what little I know about Epinions.com. However, this site formatted your letter professionally and sent it to the companies’ CEOs. It was also your choice to have it publically displayed on the site and to have the CEO know that the letter was written through and displayed on the site where others can read and respond. It’s killin’ me I can’t remember itI I just googled ‘consumer opinions and letters’ and did not get much.

Anyway, my point is: MAKE A BIG STINK ABOUT IT! I’m not talking defamation - I’m guessing you can’t prove that they have odor problems, and what exactly do they suck? lol

Get on consumer sites and post your letter. Let them know how many you are doing this to. Contact the other advertisers on the site, share your story, and tell the site you did so. Let’s see if they get their arse in gear once they know how hard you’ve been working to tell eveyone what happened. Do they have contact information on the site? Write the consumer/investigative tv reporters in the site’s hometown, or even yours. Good luck and keep us posted.

I am the other shoe on the SocialSpark foot as I do paid posts for them. I took one task for $16.50 but only received $8 because of some new highfalutin system they have. My fault for not reading their TOS properly but it sucks all the same. I hope you get your money back.

A critical warn to me. I really dislike those spams and do not believe them. File a chargeback to credit card company is more feasible.

I hadn’t read your post here before I too wrote on the questionable ‘Socialspark’ network. They rejected my site for the same reason…too adult! Wankers! I’m beginning to think its run by some Christian organization…anti everything fun!

Hope you get your money back!

That’s pretty rotten that they took your money like that, but I’m a little confused as to why. Was this an affiliate program, or were you signing up as a member to review the site for your blog, or both?

Never believe those contents in emails again. They need pardon from you.

Buffy sent me a link to your blog entry. I too was given the scarlet letter “R” for rejected from “Customer Love” at SocialSpark… and what is really amazing is that my blog is basically PG. I just blogged this weekend about how pissed off I was about their insinuating email. I think I am going to start a “SocialSpark Reject Club” and we will party the night away, LOL.
