Belly Dancing

I found an interesting blog about learning to belly dance. It’s called The Belly Dancer’s Diary. I would love to learn how to do this. Here’s a video of one practice session. The dance is good and will get better, but I loved the cat near the end of the dance. :)

i have thought about getting one of those belly dancing vids!! i have a few friends who swear by it as far as toning up their middles. and what a fun way to feel sexy while you’re gettin that sixpack (mine’s SOMEwhere under there. hehe!!!) that chick in the vid makes me think of shakira in her “hips dont lie” video. hehe. (dont we all wish we could move like shakira!!)

and ohmygoodness! that cat, he looks EXACTLY like my cat, cadet!!! HAHAH!!! too weerd!

Hey! Thank you so much for blogging about me! I’m flattered! It’s been the best workout I’ve tried, because I don’t get bored with it like I did with aerobics, plus, the clothes are prettier;). And, it is very empowering, promoting sisterhood in diversity.

BellyDanceGirl does a great job! I have also had some lessons and it’s not only the mid section that tones up!! It’s the whole body… when I first started, I could feel every muscle in my body being used. It is more fun than aerobics and I agree with BDG, the costumes are far prettier :)

    Hey Ange,

When you could feel every muscle in your body, does that mean you were in pain?

I wonder if there’s an age beyond which you look stupid doing this. :)

Nice dance there! Is it painful the next day after such a dance?

FF - I was the youngest in my class. The other women were 40’s and 50’s. My instructor was 56.

David - it is not painful the next day. When I was first learning, I did have stiff muscles the next day, but nothing a hot bath didn’t cure!

Yeah, have to agree with you. Liked the cat. I’m also a fan of belly dancing, I saw it in a desert outing in Dubai, & ever since.

Thanks for visiting my modest blog. :)
